About
One day while discussing the weekend's adventures, Tom dreamed up this crazy idea that these conversations could help and maybe inspire other D&D players with their games. We talk about the fun we have playing Dungeons and Dragons including the heroics, fun table talk and role play, plus the epic rolls, But we also talk about all the critical failures, mistakes we make in our decision making as players and Dungeon Masters, and the errors in prep. We've all been there, and we can learn from experience. So, Dan jumped on board and we became Teachers in the Dungeon.
Join Tom and Dan as they break down the game and talk about other D&D topics. |
Tom Gross has been playing D&D since 1980. He stepped away here and there because of life, but has always come back to the game. He has experience as both a player and Dungeon Master and has played most editions of the game (1st, 2nd, 3.5, 5th and Pathfinder). Tom has an affinity for dwarves that he learned from R.A. Salvatore's Bruenor Battlehammer and Tolkein's Gimli from the Lord of the Rings legends. He can relate to their grouchy demeanor and constant teasing from elves.
Tom is a high school librarian and hosts a Game Club in his library where he, his colleagues and his students learn, teach and play a variety of board games as well as Dungeons and Dragons. Tom and Dan also host an RPG Summer Camp for teens at their school. The camp continues to grow each year! He is married and has two daughters. When he is not at the game table, Tom is a part of the Star Wars community and is a frequent guest on the podcast Coffee with Kenobi, and he is co-host of CWK Pourover where Dan Zehr (Coffee with Kenobi), Cory Club and Tom participate in pop culture discussion of movies, streaming T.V. shows, and a number of other topics. Tom also shares his thoughts on a variety of other topics on his blog: Seeking Positivity in the Galaxy. Tom is active on Twitter; you can follow him @draftline |
Dan Reem played exactly one session of 1st edition D&D before his (very sweet but very Baptist) mother decided it was evil and ended all his fun. He played exactly two sessions of 3rd edition D&D before he and his college friends exhausted their DM with overthinking every. single. decision. He rediscovered D&D in all its 5e glory back in 2017, thanks to his colleague Tom, and worked his way into the role of semi-permanent Dungeon Master. Dan writes his own adventures because trying to figure out published adventures is too much work. He also builds his own terrain because that stuff is EXPENSIVE to purchase.
In real life, Dan teaches European History and Human Geography, and bravely refuses to let his relative lack of talent prevent him from building gaming terrain and producing original music, much of which is Dungeons and Dragons-related and can be found here: soundcloud.com/dreem-4 Dan is married to a very understanding, indulgent wife and has two children: a daughter who shares his gaming obsession, and a son who is very polite. |
